Turkey is one of the most established, rewarding and attractive birding destinations in the region and has by now a developed indigenous birding community. Hopefully other countries can come along these lines as well.
My only birding trip to Turkey was back in 2005 but since I have also guided several culture/history groups along the western parts and in Istanbul.
